Phormium 'Wings of Gold' (Dwarf Variegated Flax) - New Zealand Flax cultivar with a slightly arching habit that grows to 3-4 feet tall with olive-green foliage that have cream-yellow margins that are faintly red-edged. Plant in full sun to light shade. Can tolerate fairly dry conditions (coastal) but looks best with occasional to regular irrigation. Hardy to 15-20 F. Possibly root hardy below these temperatures but with severe foliage damage unless protected. Looks to be a smaller form of Phormium 'Variegata'. Introduced in the US by Malanseuns Pleasure Plants of South Africa.
