A gracefully arching open clump forming bamboo that can reach a 20-25 feet in height with more than equal spread. The canes can grow to a diameter of 1 1/2 inches and are densely clothed with very thin, narrow and long light green leaves lending the plant a soft appearance. Plant in full sun (coast) to light shade. Somewhat drought tolerant once established. Hardy to 18 ° F (some reports say 22° F).

Grows naturally in ravines and mountain slopes between 2,000 - 5,000 ft through much of in Mexico.
