Rosa Home Run™ PPAF ['WEKcisbako'] (Red Shrub Rose) - A carefree compact shrub rose that grows to 3 to 4 feet tall by equal spread and is covered in 3 inch wide 5-petaled (single) fire engine red flowers that grace the plant from late spring or early summer until first frost with a brief rest in mid summer. Flowers are followed by attractive orange hips that add seasonal decoration on this plant. Plant in full sun and irrigate regularly. Hardy to below 0 F. This rose has great disease resistance to powdery mildew and also relatively free of problems from blackspot and downy mildew though we have noted that it produces and holds its developing fruit (hips) and requires more regular trimming because of this. It is a hybrid of Knockout created by Tom Carruth, of Weeks Roses. It received US Plant Patent PP18,552 in March 2008.
