Rosa Burgundy Iceberg ™ PP16,198 ['PROse'] (Burgundy Iceberg TM Rose) - Burgundy Iceberg is a prolific bloomer that has deep purple colored flowers with lighter reverse and dark burgundy red stamens and anthers. As with its namesake Rosa 'Iceberg' this plant has dense medium green foliage and a bushy rounded growth habit to 3 feet tall by nearly equal spread with good rebloom of slightly fragrant flowers throughout the growth season. Plant in full sun. Water regularly. Hardy to around 0 F. This beautiful burgundy floribunda was discovered by Edgar Norman Swane in 1998 in Dural, New South Wales, Australia and is being marketed in the US by Weeks Roses. It was a mutation of the cultivar 'PRObril' PP12,645, a pink and cream flowering rose which had been discovered by Lilia M.Weatherly in Tasmania, Australia in 1995 and issued US plant patent PP12,645 in 2002. 'Probril' is marketed under the name Brilliant Pink Iceberg Rose and is the result of a vegetative mutation from 'ProBerg' PP9,600, which is a pink mutation of the unpatented Iceberg rose that was also discovered by Ms. Weatherly and issued US plant patent PP9,600 in 1996. We grew this plant in 2007.
