Nymphaea 'Albert de Lestang' (Blue and White Tropical Waterlily) - A wonderful selection of Nymphaea gigantea that was selected in 1946 from Northern Territory in Australia by Albert de Lestang and introduced into the trade by George Pring. The large flowers rise 18 inches above the bright green pads and are white peony flushed with blue on the first day and fade to white on day two. Flowers are noted as remaining open for 24 hours a day during the life of the individual flower which is up to four or five days. WOW!
Plant in full sun in warm water. Fertilize heavily through the growing season for best results. Frost tender and best lifted and stored in our climate. This selection is considered to be very rare. Our thanks to Don Hamburger for this wonderful waterlily!
