Plant in full sun (coastal) to part sun or shade and water regularly. A good edging plant or use as a groundcover or container plant. It is cold hardy into USDA zone 4 where foliage can be damaged but rebounds. Cut back this plant if needed in winter to allow the fresh new foliage to cleanly emerge. A very tough and attractive plant - Luen Miller at Monterey Bay Nursery has described this plant as an "almost Liriope-like sedge"!

This plant was selected by horticulturist Barry Yinger during a collection trip to Japan and was introduced in the US by Hines Nursery in 1996. It been marketed extensively as Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance' but Carex morrowii is typically a clump forming plant that has narrower leaves. We grew and sold this plant from 2003 until 2010.
