Echinodorus cordifolius 'Marble Queen' (Aquatic) ('Marble Queen') - 'Marble Queen' is a striking variegated form of the species. Dramatic pattern of creamy yellow and green variegation appear throughout the foliage of this marginal (bog) plant. In the spring, this plant forms a stout rosette of submerged leaves that look like light green, undulatiing water lily leaves. However, it also has a strong tendency to grow above the surface in shallow water (depth 18" and under) and send up leaf blades which are stiffer and have a heart shape. In the summer, white flowers bloom for a long period on stalks that are first erect, but later arch over. It will reach about 2 feet tall by 3 feet spread, prefers part sun, and is hardy to about 20 degrees F. We grew this plant form 2003 until 2007.

The information displayed on this page about Echinodorus cordifolius 'Marble Queen' is based on our research conducted about this plant from books in our nursery library as well as from information that is provided by reliable online resources.
