Leucanthemum x superbum 'Ryans Daisy' (Shasta Daisy) - This is the outrageous white daisy growing along the side of the house in our demonstration garden. We received it as Chrysanthemum x superbum 'Ryan's Daisy' from Goodness Grows, a nursery in Georgia who described it as follows: "3-3.5' wide by 2' tall. Full sun/ part shade blooming July to August [this is later than most other Shasta daisies] Three- to three-and-one-half-inch white daisies on tall, strong stems. Thick dark-green foliage forms massive clumps in the garden. This exceptional daisy was selected for its habit and bloom period and shared with us by the Ryan Gainey [famed southern designer]" It is by far superior to any other Shasta Daisy we have evaluated. Leucanthemum x superbum is a group of old hybrids that resulted from crossing Leucanthemum lacustre with Leucanthemum maximum.
