Bambusa beecheyana (Beechey Bamboo) - A gracefully arching large clump-forming bamboo which reaches to 50 feet tall with 5 inch thick culms that first emerge an apricot color and are later covered with white powder. Good for an accent plant in tropical and oriental gardens. Plant in full sun. Hardy to 15 degrees F. Edible shoots. Native to Guangdong and Hong Kong, China.  The information on this page is based on research conducted in our nursery library and from online sources as well as from observations made of this plant as it grows in our nursery, in the nursery's garden and in other gardens that we have visited.
