Melaleuca squamea (Fuzzy Swamp Honey-myrtle) - This is an erect shrub reaching 10 feet tall and about 8 feet wide. The mauve flowers bloom in the spring. Leaves are narrow and crowded along stems; the new growth is white-tomentose. It takes full sun and prefers moist soil. It is hardy to about 20 degrees F. We first grew this interesting plant in 1993 and continued until 2005 when we regretfully stopped for lack of sales.
