Marsilea minuta (Aquatic) (Miniature Water Clover) - This small Marsilea only grows to a couple inches high and prefers growing on saturated soil to very shallow water. The tiny leaflets are unequal in size with the outer ones being somewhat larger. An attractive feature is the marking on the leaflet. At the base there is a small light colored oval that has at its inner side a darker dot. This could possibly be used effectively at the base of bonsai specimens. It is hardy to about 20 degrees F.
The information displayed on this page about Marsilea minuta is based on research conducted in our nursery's horticultural library as well as from several reliable online resources. We also include our own observations made about this plant as it grows in the nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in the containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments that we have received from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information about this plant, particularly if it includes cultural information that will aid others to better grow it.
