Gaura lindheimeri (Gaura) - This is a wispy, upright 2-4 foot high, 2 foot wide perennial from the Southwest U.S. The stalkless leaves and flowers grow directly on the stems. White flowers bloom from pink buds in the spring through fall. It does best in full sun with occasional watering. Cut back flower stalks for repeat bloom. It is hardy to about 15-20 degrees F.
The description above is based on our research and observations of this plant growing in our nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens in the Santa Barbara area. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who has additional information about this plant, even if they disagree with what we have written.
