Berberis lomariifolia (Chinese Holly) - Non-branching stems on this evergreen shrub stiffly reach 6-10 feet tall by about 5 feet wide. The dark green leaves are barbed and will keep their dark green color if they are shaded from hot afternoon sun. The yellow blooms appear in winter through early spring, they are then followed by decorative powdery blue berries, which are favored by birds. Needs regular watering. Hardy to about 20-25 degrees F.
