Agave parrasana x colorata is a hybrid from a cross made by Brian Kemble. Intermediate between the species - more open than typical Agave parrasana with thinner darker leaves than typical A. colorata. Plant in full sun. Little H20. Hardiness not known but likely around 15F. Our plants from seed collected by Brian Kemble from Agave parrasana that was hand pollinated between 4/30/07 – 5/11/07 and ripenend in 9-07. The mother plant (Agave parrasana) was also pollinated on labeled flowers with pollen from Agave xylonocantha and we have plants of this cross as well.
This description of this plant is based on our research and our observations of it growing at the nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens. We always appreciate receiving feedback of any kind from those who have any additional information about this plant, particularly if they disagree with what we have written or have additional cultural tips that would aid others growing Agave parrasana x colorata .
