Dracaena draco (Dragon Tree) - This is an interesting tree that is commonly used as a house plant, but if planted in ground it will grow to a massive and broad tree that is 25 feet tall and as wide. The terminal ends of the thick branches hold clusters of sword-shaped leaves. Greenish white flowers are followed by orange berries. Plant in full sun or part shade. Water infrequently and deeply. It is hardy to about 20-25 degrees F.
The description above is based on our research and observations of this plant growing in our nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens in the Santa Barbara area. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who has additional information about this plant, even if they disagree with what we have written.
