Corynocarpus laevigata 'Variegata' (Variegated New Zealand Laurel) - This is a slow growing narrow upright evergreen tree reaching 25 to 40 feet tall densely covered with oblong dark glossy green foliage with creamy variegation. In the spring, small white flowers are followed by orange (poisonous) berries. Plant in part sun and water regularly. Hardy to 20-25 F. This makes a good container plant, for screening in shaded locations or under eaves. It looks best when trimmed and not sheared.
The description above is based on our research and observations of this plant growing in our nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens in the Santa Barbara area. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who has additional information about this plant, even if they disagree with what we have written.
